I have always thought that Craftsman screwdrivers, even the older ones were pretty poor. They work fine on the little around the house projects, but seem to strip out easily on tough fasteners, especially Phillips.

I don’t think I would bother with the warranty on their screwdrivers.

It seems to me that when Sears first sold the line, the new owners decided to ditch the warranty, but I think they quickly discovered that the bad will was costing them more sales than just replacing broken tools that probably cost them pennies to make.
