Congrats on the 911T, that’s an awesome gift! Sucks about the shift rod breaking though. Sadly, the only real fix is to pull the engine and transmission to replace or properly weld it. Some people have tried shortcuts, but they don’t usually last. It’s a bit of work, but worth doing right, and it’s a good chance to check other parts while you're at it. Once fixed, you’ll be good to go for the long haul.
