Cool, the transition strips is a good idea, especially with the corrugation.
When I posted this thread, my thought was to use some wood scraps cut on an angle. I've seen woodworkers use wooden cleats in their shops for hanging tools and cabinets. We don't have earthquakes here, so I don't think much of an angle is needed to keep them from coming down.
