My 2 cents on selling this car on BaT:
Long term ownership is a huge plus on BaT.
Color is great, also good for BaT.
That one picture of the interior seems like it's in decent shape for a 250k mile car. Assuming no cracks on the dash, etc. that is also a plus
Stock ride height would be mocked by some but would be lapped up by others who highly value originality. So I'd call it a wash.
42 year ownership would be an enormous plus if there is a one inch thick stack of records to go with it. If not, still a plus but expect to be drilled and challenged endlessly. That's part of the BaT game, in fact that's the whole value of BaT for a buyer.
Magnesium case totally 100% not a factor. Nobody snubs 2.7s anymore. It's abundantly clear that if the engine's temperature is kept normal it's a good reliable engine. To that point on temperature, expect an aggressive line of questioning on thermal reactors and when did you take them off and 5 blade fan and when did you replace it with 11 blade (assuming you did both things).
Mileage is clearly not a plus but not a huge deal breaker if there's confidence on the status of the engine. If at any point in time the case was split and any work had been done, that would be a massive plus obviously.
Leaks oil is not good. It sullies what is otherwise a very attractive car for anyone in the market for a middie targa. I would look into what it takes to have a reputable Porsche shop do it (not yourself, even if you normally work on the car). If it's, like, a $5k job I think it would more than pay back for itself. If it was my car I might pay even a bit more potentially.
It could make the difference between the car being perceived as a semi-project and a unicorn survivor.
