I used to see the airline reports almost daily. There are hundreds of "emergency" traffic priority requests from part 121 airlines on a daily basis. Most of the time the passengers wont even know it. And they really dont need to know it because they aren't in any serious danger and their schedules aren't affected. I dont know what happened in this particular case, but the fact that it wasn't reported anywhere is because it wasn't really news.
