Not sure what where foam piece is….the gas door pull?
Removing kneepad is the pink part in your pic, or what I outlined. Essentially kneepad removes downward and is separate from all other components…
Edit : Thinking about yours, if it’s the “basket weave” section in your pic you refer to (?) and depending on the aftermarket kit you’ll be using, then that basket weave trim piece which is an overlay trim on early 911’s is removable but without it there will be holes, adhesive, maybe raw scratches on the frame that the trim hides.
Or in the case in which a retrofit kit with a new design of the +74 models comes as a complete set with some assembly order.
When I debated on this backdate, the glovebox and radio were required to be removed and I didn’t do the project.
