No, this would be a mule account. They trick people into using their own bank account. Scammer does the work, has the money sent to the mule who keeps a little and sends the rest through crypto or wire transfer or however to the scammer.

Ever get a random text job offer? That’s what they are doing, offering work then switching you over to being a money mule.

Local cops are lazy and don’t care.

Sometimes the FBI cares.

The best people to catch these guys are scam baiters, they have 10x the skills the cops do for internet scams. For this much money I’d call the guy, have a chat and get references. I’ve bought sports seats and engines and many other big dollar items - it’s very easy to tell the difference between a scammer and a real seller. Scammers are looking for dumb people that don’t pay attention.
