I echo what everyone else is saying about the lack of value in Porsches at today’s prices but I still love them if they were still cheap. A lot of the fun got sucked out of the hobby when prices went up. Remember early 2000s Pelican? Guys who were young, active duty military service members were buying 911SCs and working on them, modifying them, etc. Everyone was going to the track and burning up a set of tires on a regular basis and it was a real brotherhood around here. I miss it and my air-cooled 911s a lot.
One small note I’d like to make; Descholt above said that “you can also hustle a Civic R…” My business partner has a 2025 Civic R, (as well as a GT3 and a lot of other vehicles), that Honda is seriously fast. It has a tune and exhaust and if you stab the pedal at 30-40 mph, it breaks traction and takes off like a scalded banshee. It would destroy a G-body 911 in any type of race. Also, it was around $55k out the door with dealer markup before the mods, so not sure about the context of the comparison. Anyhow….agree with you guys. If I was him, I’d get rid of the redundant car, one of the 911 Porsches.
