However, what really stood out last night was the fact that none of the Boy/Cub/Girl Scouts present last night were alive at the time of the attack but there they were. That at least was encouraging.

Yep attendance is waning in the past few years.
One of the things that has always bothered me even as a firefighter, is how in the first responder community, we have always focused on the responder lives that were lost. The civilians have always been in the background. To me, everyone was equal that day and should be memorialized the same.
