Dang, sorry to hear that Jerry. A cat in the lap is a treasure; two must be heavenly.
When we lost our Squeaky 8 years ago his twin brother Fat Boy meowed constantly, seemed like he was calling for his brother to come out from hiding. Such a mournful sound, damn near broke my heart. Fat Boy also put on about four pounds (nervous eating/stress response I guess). Looked like a furry balloon.
They still leave a hole in my heart.
