Tony Stewart essentially bought an up and running team and infused a good deal of money into it to bring it up a notch. He was very conscious when he did that of having the appearance of "buying his way to the front", and really wanted to earn the respect of his fellow racers while he learned the game. So, he drove an alcohol car for some time before stepping into the Top Fuel car. He's done a good job with the team, learning the ropes, and earning that respect from the other teams. I think he has matured a great deal from his NASCAR days. I'm rooting for him. The NHRA needs some fresh blood. Oh, and his wife will return to a Top Fuel car next year as well. They might prove to be pretty tough to beat.
