True story, Was working a PCA DE at start/finish at Summit Point in the day when several guys showed up asking if anyone had a green 912. Only one running that day, forgot his name, but ever after he was known at Hollywood. They said the car bought to use in the opening sequence driving across Memorial Bridge was a POS that crapped out. Offered some money but initially not enough. They were to finish shooting the ending sequence where Redford exited the CIA onto the GW Parkway. First offer did not convince our DE participants. As I remember, something north of $5k for the 30 min of shooting was handed over. I even think he got back to finish the weekend.
