Moto trials is so insane! I think there's a comp every year in the Taos/Red River area that I always regret missing.
Besides the homestead-era wagon roads, most of the very fun and challenging mtb trails in the Los Alamos area were established by a bunch of trials-focused moto riders over the last 50y. There are still a few that use their machines to maintain the system. Lugging a chainsaw 10 miles in is far easier with >1hp. (most) Local motos ride gently and respect all of the other users. Newcomer hikers/bikers get pretty uppy until they understand how chill the motos are and how much work they do for the rest of us.
