I've been on Pelican a few decades and always found Mike80911's posts valuable.
(He was a user-name I looked forward to clicking on.)
I hope you will continue to whatever degree. My own car laying fallow in storage for too long.
That sounds remote. I'm sorry. Just an observation.
Dad passed away a dozen years ago. Lost Mother a few days ago. A bit of chaos and reflection. It all piles on at once.
If there is Probate...start gathering the paperwork now.
All Survivors matter...
As POA, I could not legally cremate Mom without a sibling signature who lives in another country.....
The fking cemetery would not give me vault information today to ensure the ashes container box would fit in their vault at time of burial.
There will be a LOT of paperwork.
You will have to find all former business addresses..
Notify all friends. Even after the fact. They want it from you.
-And start sending out Proof of Death Certificates: Utilities. Internet. Phone. Banks.
-Close down accounts and shut off all accounts.
-Some will try to lay claims and send collections and bill your fathers estate may years into the future.
