A few years ago I booked a reservation at a hotel for two nights for 6 months in the future. So after my plans changed, so I called to cancel. They said their policy is no refunds on booked rooms. So I replied I have a policy I don't pay for services I do not receive. If it was the day before, I might see a point. They had 4 months to re-book the room.
I kept all the email. They tried to charge me, and I submitted it all to USAA. I was refunded my money in full.
