We are not allowed to put yard waste in either our garbage or recycling. We have to take it to the yard behind the town hall, where they then take it to compost somewhere.

We get garbage picked up every week, and recycling every other. Since there's just two of us here, we rarely fill either can. That is unless the wife is on a eBay / Etsy / wherever buying spree, then there's a lot of packing to go.

We don't have an alley, the cans go to the curb. The truck goes down my side of the street, and about 5 minutes later comes back to do the other side. I couple of times I've had more trash than fits in the can, and I'll just wait for him to empty it once, drive away, and I'll quickly fill it again and put it next to the neighbor's can on the other side of the street and he empties it again. The cans are all bar coded and maybe rfid chipped, but apparently they don't use that here.

Dead animals in the garbage? That's nasty.
I just buried another bunny in the back yard. The hound doesn't know she's a fox hound, not a rabbit hound.
