The light showed the timing advancing....but what happened when it went wonky......did it just go intermittent?..or did the advance go high/low....RPMs drop
I would run the Pip & Saw through a Terminal block, making the signals easy to access.
The log I am recommending is not the standard datalog, but the Ignition log found in the Diagnostics and high speed logger section This should show if the M'squirt is receiving a good PIP signal and if it does something weird when your incoming ignition signal changes whiles the AFRs go low.
