Just back from my son's house and a visit with the granddaughters. It just keeps getting better...
They are back to claiming that "Bigfoot isn't real, grandpa!". So, I asked them, how do they explain the footprints across their yard? What could have possible made them? You folks will love this:
It was clearly a herd of banana slugs. That's their story. Banana slugs devouring the dirt into the shapes of Bigfoot footprints. I asked them how the footprints could be so far apart, how this rampaging herd of banana slugs could have gotten from one footprint to the next without leaving tracks? Their stunned silence, glancing back and forth at one another, then grandma, told me that they had not thought this part of their story through all that well. Then the four year old blurted it out:
"They flew, grandpa!". The six year old was quick to back her up, nodding approvingly. I told them that I thought maybe they had made this up. Let me get this straight - a flying herd of banana slugs, eating dirt to form the shapes of Bigfoot footprints. "That's it, grandpa!" Uh huh...
I'm going to have to up my game. This is far from over. My son has a game camera next to a small stream that flows through the back of his property. I'm liking unclebilly's idea of a gorilla suit. I bet I can even find a Sasquatch suit. They all leave to go elk hunting in a couple of weeks. That gives me time to turn one up.
