So theoretically, a wormhole cuts through the meat of the donut, instead of traveling on the surface.
Once the physicists figure out the push/pull calculation, if they haven't already.
Just like lightning being grounded.
It short circuited the toroid.
But a wormhole you pop back out on the surface somewhere else.
