After my 915 was rebuilt this winter it’s as nice of a transmission as I’ve ever experienced. No lag in 1st to 2nd, no slipping, grinding, pausing, forcing, sweet talking or cursing.

The change from prior to the rebuild was night and day.

We just did the tail of the dragon yesterday en route to Overcrest, and I didn’t even think about my shifting at all- it just did what I wanted; rowing through the gears as the car slalomed through the switchbacks.

When properly sorted, the 915 is a perfectly wonderful transmission. All of the aftermarket products are bandaids (of varying degrees of utility, performance and hype) until the internals are addressed.

Stock shifter, karsten spring, new bushings, Novak tunnel bushing, wavetrac LSD, taller 5th…otherwise stock
