I recall test driving one when we were looking at buying a car for my wife.
I was not impressed with the engine as it seemed very 'tractor like' compared to a Honda.
We ended up buying a 2013 CR-V EX if that gives you any idea of the time frame I'm speaking of.
Things may have changed for Mazda since then. I know they have for Honda, sadly.
