There are a lot of different speedmasters out there... "speedmaster" is like "porsche 911" i.e. more desirable and less desirable models and lots of variants. Are you looking specifically for a hand wound hesalite moonwatch (the most iconic)?
The cheapest version of what most people think of when they say speedmaster is the speedmaster reduced, ref 3510.50, which is smaller but still plenty big at 39mm and is an automatic. You can find one used for a little under 2k. For a moonwatch (42mm and hand wound), as low as very high 3k for the hesalite, add about 1k for sapphire sandwich.
I would say the market on watches has softened a bit but not a ton at least for the models I usually track (Omega, Sinn, Panerai, Tudor, Rolex, Hamilton, Grand Seiko, Zenith), generally flat for last year but that is certainly down from 2 years ago.
