That and the fact that the car is already paid for, which is another part of the BaT protocol, which admittedly someone could fail to do but they would be out their buyer’s fee. Other than that, you hit it on the head.
I know that you have not been successful marketing your vehicles on the site but my track record is batting 1000, with every listing paid for within a day or two of auction ending, site unseen, (except for my photos/videos).

They immediately collect their 5% buyers fee, you are correct about that. But BaT doesn’t provide any facilitation for a seller to receive payment from a buyer, for that you’re on your own just like any other vehicle transaction. They do offer their verified checkout that acts as an escrow service but it also costs extra.
I’m actually 1/2 on BaT, my D2 S8 sold post-auction to the high bidder. I enjoy watching auctions of cars with questionable histories being sold for top dollar  In all seriousness I think there are some epic cars for sale on there, but I think the comments section and “experts” lull non-car savvy people into a false sense of security. It’s still buyer beware, and ultimately it’s just another car auction.
