Suspension Refresh

The P75 is running well, but handling was getting vague - it just didn't want to take a set in the corners anymore.

Anyway, I was at a PCA C&C / Tech Talk at Beeline Motor Club in Santa Cruz and the subject was F and G model suspension rebuilds. The presentation was informative and the shop looked relatively neat and organized so I decided to let Beeline rebuild my front and rear suspension.

In the front, they replaced the lower control arms, the ball joints, the wheel bearings, the strut damper inserts (I replaced the old Bilsteins with new, the green ones), and the steering tie rods (updated 930 type).

In the rear, they replaced the spring plates / bushings with new adjustable units, the swing arm bushings, the wheel bearings, the axle shafts, the shock absorbers, and the rear sway bar mounting consoles.

I reused the torsion bars (22mm hollow front & 27mm hollow rear) and sway bars which I had installed in 2007.

Then they corner balanced and aligned the suspension.

The result was immediately noticeable. The car feels much more planted to the road going around corners and high speed stability on the freeway is much improved.
