so there is a newer method of fishing. a technique
I dont know how new the technique is but colored me intrigued. I am a bass fisherman, accustomed to casting lures.
drifting a frozen squid across the tops of reefs is effective, but oddly boring.
the method is called Slow Pitch jigging. I think it started in Japan, but blew up in Florida. being me, I researched for a month. what rod to buy? what reel to buy?
I called Florida. a guy called Johnny. of Johnny Jigs. cool dude!! closet civil engineering nerd. we talked about the Osaka Airport for a long time, and how it is sinking. I told him I am a CE, and he just started in..fun. I just googled the hell out of that airport. it is crazy!! they built a friggen island on piles!!
anyways, Johnny could sell a ketchup sandwich to a woman in a white dress. I bought a rod.
I'll be in Japan in a few weeks and will buy the fishing reel there. Johnny thought it was the best move and made sure he gave me his opinion on my reel choices.
slow pitch jigging looks strenuous. like cross fit. off a kayak, Johnny said I am going to get whupped. slow pitch rods are engineer marvels as well.
I just stepped on my dogs poop, and I am still in a good mood!! happy Friday people.
