Have a friend that’s a dentist who teaches dentists how to use those machines.
It’s amazing how they’ve taken off over the last few years. I love the same day crown replacement vs the old school wait for the impression and it gets sent off.
The only issue I know of is when scanning for a bridge or partial it doesn’t always capture the compression you need for soft tissue and you end up with a mouth full of alginate anyway.
As an aside - someone else the wife knows sells dental impression stuff.
His business isn’t quite so hot.
