The intercooler cartridge is primarily bonded together. The intercooler cores feel a little small to me, but they are rated for 500hp so they should cool the charge down enough.

The outlet port is at the top edge of the core to keep air from getting trapped. The wedge in the middle helps to divide the air but its primary purpose is to brace the intake manifold. It would want to balloon out but the retaining bolts keep it locked together.

My leaf blower flows about as much air as the engine does at 4,000 rpm. The intercooler and intake manifold together showed a pressure drop of less than 1 in H2O or about 0.03 psi. Crazy.
