On the other hand the kids being admitted today are bred from vats to know how to work hard enough to get into harvard. I imagine theres not a slacker in the bunch. Something you get with a high end school grad is someone who knows how to buckle down and get work done.
Might be a better analogy to this ‘anti grade inflation’ is the idiotic jack welch style layoffs at ge where great people were let go for corporate reasons. A curve has its place but maybe not in all classes…
Edit: when i was doing performance reviews at a big company we sometimes had teams of rock stars. Policy was they needed to be fit in a curve but it made no sense to reward one with huge bonus when everyone was so equal. We were able to get an exception when we needed to. We also got exceptions so noone got a bonus because everyone sucked.

Same in school, sometimes curves dont fit.
