For better or worse, I TOTALLY relate to this guy doing a hack repair his broken tripod.
In fact, as I was watching, I was yelling at the screen to make a slightly looser sleeve and fill the gap with J-B weld, instead of hoping for a friction fit.
(Disclaimer-I'm absolutely aware that he's a wizard blacksmiith and wheelwright.)
