People do suck. You did everything and more to try and be fair. Quit beating yourself up.

When I sold my 356, after dealing with WAY to many weirdos from FBMP and the 356 registry, I had a semi local guy in Montana interested and a guy in CA who wanted to buy it sight unseen. He talked me down $2,500 with the usual, what's your bottom line BS. We had a "deal" for him to be backup but I told him the Montana guy will see it first. He had called first. The Montana guy bought it for the same price I agreed to with the CA guy. Once the CA guy found out it was sold he was pissed I didn't come back to him to let him outbid the Montana guy from the price he negotiated me down to. I am not running an auction was my response.
