Ten years ago I picked up a used angle grinder from a second hand store. It worked well until this spring when it didn't. I seemed like an intermittent fault. I bought a new one but of course didn't throw the old one away. Today I got to it. I had been thinking the brushes might be worn out, but upon inspection it turned out one of them was sticking in its holder. I cleaned it up and got the result I wanted!. Now I can keep cutting wheels in one and abrasive disks in the other.
