Traveling with my wife, we stop about every 1.5 hours with a total travel time of eight to ten hours , so about 5 hours with the wheels turning.
Traveling solo, I tend to do double the distance in the same period of time. Last June, I drove 3.5 hours to visit a sister in hospital, had lunch with another sister who reported a brother was not doing well, drove a further 1.5 hours to check on him then did the 5 hour drive back home.
I do not drink coffee when I'm trying to do distance. That allows my old bladder to do 2.5 hours. The "old man's car " will go 800km (500 m) on a tank. We both have our limits.
