The Smart car met crashworthiness standards, it had Mercedes marketing muscle, and it was roundly ignored by American consumers.
If it would have caught on, there'd be Smart pickups, Smart sedan deliveries, Smart minivans on the road.
If the current administration can convince buyers that Kei cars are what America wants and needs, I'm behind it all the way.
