I just replaced our 18 yr old Sony's, 42" & 52", with new 55" and 65" Sony Bravia 7 miniLED QLED sets. I found the receipt for the 52" that my daughter had bought for me, $2400 in '08.
Had to pay $100 to have the old sets hauled away but it was worth it not to have the hassle of disposing of them. The 52" was a two person lift job.
I'm enjoying the heck out of the new 65", the picture is really nice. My wife is slowly coming around to liking her new set. She claims I didn't listen to her when she said she didn't want a bigger one than the old one. I didn't listen to her way back then either since she wanted nothing bigger than 40". Her new one is only a few inches overall bigger as it doesn't have the 2" bezel around the picture like the old one.
All in I think we're at @$3100 for everything, including a new receiver for my HT in the living room. My old Denon wouldn't pass anything above 1080P thru on video so it wasn't going to work with the 65" set.
