New Clutch, or something I am missing...

I've had this 88 930 for just over a year. Amazing machine! I am currently trying to sort out the transmission.

Here's what's happening:

It's getting more and more difficult to shift the car. I even have to put the car in R before starting the engine now if I am backing out. If I am at an intersection and have it in neutral, when the light changes its sometimes very difficult to put it in first gear.

Here's what I've done:

I adjusted the linkage at on the side of the trans.
I did a trans fluid flush and change (no issues).
I've checked for leaks in the system (the brake res doesn't use any fluid, and I've not had to top it off in the year I've owned it).

The PO supposedly had just done the transmission before he passed away.

And it doesn't slip at all, no matter how hard I get on the gas.

I was going to go ahead and drop the engine and put in a new clutch (disc and pressure plate), but wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something less obvious (and less costly).

TLDR: Do I need a new clutch if the current one isn't slipping? If I can't get it in gear, isn't it an adjustment issue?

Thanks in advance!
