If they are amicable, I would try a self-help center to resolve the divorce. In the CA Bay Area, there is a company called Guide Way that helps couples divorce if there are no issues in dispute. They are not attorneys. My brother did that about 2 years ago and it worked out well. Divorce attorneys in CA range from the $300 to $600 an hour and more. It does not take them long to chew through a lot of money and then both parties lose. Again, the couple has to be willing to work through all issues amicably.
