Just to close the loop, I bought the thing. Haven't picked it up, it went straight to an indy as it needed motor mounts. Doing those, trans mount, diff and transaxle fluids. $6500 for the vehicle, 1600 for the repair and 1200 for a set of tires. It has had coolant pipes, cv axles, trans valve body, driveshaft and jxb support bearing, battery just done.
Interior is remarkable for a car with close to 200k.
The indy is a good guy, young, motivated. Pay for parts up front, $100 hr actual time. He provides a labor guarantee. Good find. He's got a following among the local exotic community, does a lot of 996/7 turbos and gt cars. I still do a lot of my own work but at 66 and with old injuries I don't care much for heavy mechanical work in the winter.
