Your clutch is probably fine. What hasn't been mentioned is the linkage on the shifter shaft that's located under the inspection plate to the rear and between the seats. That coupler can wear over time making gear selection difficult. Also, there's a tapered allen-headed set screw that secures it to the shaft. Make sure it's tight.
