In today's game, I sincerely doubt the #1 woman could beat any man in the top 200, possibly lower. I recall a tournament in France where Andreeva (top 10, maybe higher) was in the final and the opponent defaulted prior, so to not send people home disappointed, the organizers "grabbed" some decent local guy from a local club and he still beat her !! my memory is fuzzy there..
I get the entertainment factor here, but I am lamenting they do not do one "real" damn set so we can settle this argument, THEN do the fun "play with a hand tied in your back" deal.

The only sport I know of that pit men and women head to head is drag racing. One or two women as as good as the very best men. It just takes reaction time, and the guts to run 1/8 mile and get to 300+ MPH.
When it comes to any game that involve muscles and strength, there is just no way a woman can compete. It is like the difference from the best high school football player against the bench warmers on a NFL team.
Maybe some chess players are as good as the best men, but that is a mental game, not physical.
