I have always thought of having a later model car as well......but I'm just not there.
I am perfectly fine with letting my cars sit, starting them regularly, and driving them when I can.......it's more fun than having money in the bank, or mutual funds......but I didn't buy them for the investment to begin with.
Note that if you decide to sell that car....it's worth quite a bit....current A coupe market is rising rapidly, and I just got back from a quick LA trip.....took a look at European Collectibles current stock, and they are asking big $$ for cars that are nowhere near the shape of your car.
