Normally, the pressure plate fights against the clutch to be closed, so that's the weird thing about it. The normal failure mode is that you can't disengage the clutch. So this really is the opposite of the normal failure. That's what's got me scratching my head. The only thing that occurs is that the last time someone pressed the clutch in, maybe the TO bearing hung up on the input shaft. I don't know, but I'm sure someone will either have an answer, or you'll figure it out and tell us.
