I took the advice of one of the contributors to this thread and turned to an experienced engine builder to do the heavy lifting on the project. John Walker had rebuilt my transmission a few years back and so I reconnected with him. He did the R&R on my head studs, re-installed my P&Cs with new rings, installed new guides and seals in the heads and re-assembled the heads/cam towers. Really appreciated his work and quick turnaround. I just received all the parts I need to put things back together and will be starting that shortly. Cam Timing will be a challenge for me as I haven't done it before. I'm also having trouble tracking down the "original" Porsche Z-block and tensioner supports. I'm leaning towards the Stomski Racing Cam Timing Fixture and Mechanical Tensioners. Hoping for some advice on that...
