Not sure I understood what you are suggesting, however if by "chamfered' you are referring to the case, then it won't make a difference as there is a washer that goes on either side of the case. The head off the bolt pulls against one washer, and the domed nut pulls against the other washer on the opposite side of the case.

The underside of these washers is also bevelled or chamfered to provide a sealing surface for the o ring. .

On my first few engines, I did not chamfer the case and didn't experience any issues with leaks etc. Nor did I have issues with o rings squeezing out.

But on all my subsequent builds, I do chamfer the case to try and mimic the other side.
