thank you very much for your feedback. I just checked and you are right, the engine is from '95 and apparently only variorams were available on the RS engines at that time.
Unfortunately, I don't have any information about the original owner, only that the engine comes from a trackday car that was totalled.
Could this be a ‘hybrid engine’? Why would someone go to so much trouble and expense, is there extra horsepower to gain only with the Varioram? The engine is currently still at my mechanic's, I'm requesting a compression and leakdown test.
Would more/better photos help you find out more about the engine? Thanks in advance. Regards, Nico
