My grandparents enjoyed their time on earth with no concern of how often they saw their grandchildren...it was always enough. On my mom's side, my grandfather died in 1964 and my grandmother spent half the year in Palm Beach, Florida with her sister, whose husband also died decades before her. She had 25 grandchildren and good relations with all of her kids.

The concept of moving yourself around the country to see your grandchildren is a new one to me but then life has changed for a lot of people. I've read comments on this forum from people who apparently hate where they live but stay because of proximity to grandchildren...absolutely bizarre to me.
