Hell is other people ;-) Thanks for sharing, I feel less weird now.
It *should* not bother me, it's 100% legal, my wife thinks I'm crazy for hating it, I do it when I visit other people's houses, but yes it annoys me sooo much too when some unknown leaves their car in front of my house in "my spot" LOL... In a big city or busy street no problem, but yeah in a cul de sac, where it feels semi private and feels like your spot over time, it drives me nuts.
It's not entirely rational and in my case it's mostly visitors that do that, neighbors are good. One such visitor once blocked my driveway and took off for several hours, I could have had it towed but instead may have emptied something really smelly on the windshield cowl (or not) for their future nasal enjoyment. Solutions ? not really.. Therapy maybe ?
I've pre-emptively started moving one of my cars from my driveway into the street spot in front of my house instead, to ensure that my wife can park somewhere near the house (instead of leaving it to chance). I feel 100% silly doing that (if I need to use the street parked car, I'll immediately move one of the driveway cars in its spot!!!) - that's a quirk I cannot seem to correct and I'd rather feel dumb doing this than feel annoyed later... I always like a fence around my place too... Maybe it's aterritorial gene. At least I have cars in my garage (not junk like most neighbors). Can't help with the quandary. If I could afford the extra property tax, I'd move further way from people, behind a gate and a long driveway, and blissfully forget what outside the gate looks like. This would do
