944 Central locking question?
Hello!
I was wondering if anyone here can answer some questions about the central locking system in 944s. I acquired an 87 944S earlier this year that did NOT come with the central locking option. I’m in the process of adding an aftermarket power central locking setup. It has an provision for adding a switch and, (wanting to maintain a factory appearance) am wanting wire this system up to the factory central locking switch on the center console. I just received the switch ( again, not having factory central locking option, I have no frame of reference to how the switch is supposed to function) but the switch only has functions in one direction. Versus something with a lock/unlock function. So my question is, when you press the factory switch, does it lock or unlock? Or does it do both, lock/unlock.
Thanks, silly question but again, without having in on my car, I don’t know how it’s supposed to function. Has anyone else happened to wire up an aftermarket lock system to a factory switch?
