What connector are you using and have you had the trigger pull measured?
The stock trigger in a Gen 5 is about 5-5.5 lbs. There are 3.5 and 4.5 connectors available. The NY trigger is 10 lbs.

Check if a 4.5 connector is available.

Also, when you say "spring" I am wondering if you are referring to the RSA (return spring assembly)
I'm way past 2000 rounds. The spring I refer to is the one enveloping the striker. I've been told that it would help with the trigger but it only resulted in light strikes. I don't see how it could impact the trigger pull.

A different connector kinda makes sense.
