in my opinion when enginerrs decided to add power locks it increased unnecessary wiring, same with sunroof wiring and seat heaters.
anti thrft device added more, add igniion fob just adds even more.

a simple anti theft device , hook u two three position switches , slect one postion where power runs through both switches in some selected positon.
all other power wires go to the horn, any attempt to star the car puts power tto the horn instead of the fuel pump.

as the driver you know where the switches are and what position they need to be in, all you need to do to prevent a theft is flip one or two of the switches, that makes it really hard for a would be thief to steal the car, It won't prevent entry. the horn may be wired such that the horm buton is a ground, easy enough to add an extra horn if that becomes complicated.

a thief may know how to get to the ignitio switch wires and jump them or slidehammer the igition lock out but if he does not know about the fuel pump beimg switched, hell likely just get stuck, sound the horn , becoem cofused fast, and leave.

the other way to steal a car is to get ahold of the owner's key.. the simole fuel pump switch prevents that from working out. as soon as he turns the key he sounds the horn and it will not start.

removing all this totally unnecessary electrial stuff is likely impractical, bit I see it all as more of a possible cause of unnecessary electrical issues, than an asset.
