I hadn't looked at it that close. That's crap. If you're going to make/have an El Cadimino, then the bed needs to be fully functional.

I had never heard of or seen such a thing

Of course they were black originally. Since it is all GM, it was not a big deal to make them with some El Camino parts. Built on the same line as the limos and the hearse, just a few changes to make a vehicle that could haul large flower arrangements. Since the family and general public never rode in them, from what I heard they are not great vehicles, and rather spartan.

That's super interesting.

I get compliments on my El Camino at least twice per week. The 67 pulled in next to me at the convenience store. His dad bought it new. It now has a 454 up front not the original 427.
I recently did my 390,000 mile oil change. Almost broken in!

Your Elky is very cool. Not as cool as a pre-'71, but still very cool. Shame about the 427. Hopefully, they've got that sitting in a crate or on an engine stand somewhere.

edit- c pillar? I dunno. Just needs white vinyl!-and respray in darker red such as below.

And even El Caminos came with vinyl tops as the '67 in Glenn's photo above shows, so that would have been fitting.
